Galway and Kilkenny will lock horns again this Saturday as the sides could not be separated in a thrilling encounter last weekend.

The two teams left nothing on the field as they played out a 3-14 to 2-17 stalemate at St Brendan’s Park in Birr. Galway displayed their never-say-die attitude again as a last gasp goal from Cara Giblin secured the draw for her side.

Galway were behind at various stages throughout this remarkable final, but they refused to be beaten. Kilkenny led by five points at two different points in the second half, and were three to the good going into injury time.

But up stepped Giblin, who went low from the dead ball to find the net and book a replay. The Galway forward starred in a stellar attack, shooting 1-4. Forward counterparts Orna Dunne notched up 2-2 while Maeve Cronin fired 0-3. They will need to be at their blistering best once more on Saturday.

It was announced before the Eir All-Ireland U16 A Camogie Championship final last weekend that the late Galway and Athenry star Kate Moran would be honoured with the trophy being named the Kate Moran Cup.

The decision honours the memory of the late Kate Moran, who tragically passed away while in action for her club, Athenry in 2022. Kate was a talented and dedicated player who represented her club and county with distinction, and she achieved notable success at underage level, winning two U16A All-Ireland titles.

The Kate Moran Cup will be presented for the first time following this Saturday’s Eir All-Ireland U16A Championship Final replay. There will be a winner this Saturday in what promises to be another engaging contest between these two fantastic outfits.

Throw-in for the decider at St Brendan's Park is 5pm.
