As part of the national Understand Together campaign, FORUM Connemara, in partnership with Healthy Galway, Age Friendly Galway, the HSE, and the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, is hosting an informative and welcoming community event aimed at promoting understanding and support for people living with dementia and other memory-related conditions.
The event will take place on Tuesday, April 28 2026, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Station House Hotel, Clifden, Co. Galway. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear real-life experiences, connect with others in the community, and access practical information and supports.
This event is open to everyone, including individuals interested in learning more about positive brain health, families and carers seeking information on available supports, and local businesses whose staff may benefit from training and awareness.
Speakers will include individuals with lived experience, including Helen Rochford Brennan of Dementia Ireland, who is living a full life with dementia.
Refreshments will be provided, and all are welcome to attend but we ask you to please RSVP if you wish to attend.
The event is being held in support of the Connemara Memory Café Initiative, which aims to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for those affected by dementia across the Connemara region.
Those wishing to attend are encouraged to RSVP to Kathleen Aspell at [email protected] by April 23 2026.
