Cllr Terry O'Flaherty has welcomed the resurfacing works on a number of roads in Ballybrit Heights, Ballybrit, last Friday.
The Independent city councillor said that there had been complaints locally about the condition of both the footpaths and the roads running through this estate.
Some work was carried out last year on selected sections of the footpaths, but there were no plans to carry out works this year.
Cllr O'Flaherty said she had made further representations to the city council's executive roads engineer to carry out further works, particularly on the roads at the entrance to the estate and the road going up the hill.
She was very happy that the senior official had agreed to include this estate in her works programme.
"The completion of these works will be welcomed by the residents and special thanks to the roads engineer for taking my representations on board," Cllr O’ Flaherty added.
