Clúid, Ireland’s leading Approved Housing Body, has begun giving keys to the 32 individuals and families who will be moving into the newly built apartments at Goirtín, Morrough, Renmore, close to Galway City.
The one- and two-bed apartments in the well-established suburb of Renmore will provide secure, affordable, long-term homes to 32 household from Galway City Council’s housing list. The homes are A-rated so they will be economical to run, as well as providing high levels of comfort to the residents.
The homes were delivered by Clúid in partnership with Galway City Council, the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Housing Finance Agency, Housing Agency and King Construction.
Averil Power, Chief Executive Officer, Clúid, said that they are delighted to welcome the new residents to Goirtín, Murrough, in Galway.
“This latest scheme brings to 758 the number of Clúid homes in Galway.
“Like all Clúid residents, the individuals and families who are beginning to move into the homes in Goirtín will benefit from Clúid’s maintenance, tenant support and community engagement services. We look forward to helping them put down roots and build their futures in a thriving new neighbourhood.”
Elizabeth Fanning, Director of Services, Social Development Directorate at Galway City Council, said this is a very positive step that will provide a further supply of social units in Galway City.
“These 32 homes will help to meet the housing needs of the local community.
“Galway City Council is pleased to have partnered with Clúid, State Agency partners and K King Construction Claregalway Ltd on the delivery of these new homes,” she added.
