Galway Ladies travel to Waterford for the final league phase game with their NFL Division 1 final spot already secured.
Daniel Moynihan's side will face Cork in the final on Saturday, April 11 in a repeat of the Division 2 decider from last year. Galway have fond memories of that day at Croke Park in which they sailed to a 2-8 to 1-5 victory.
But the immediate focus will be on the task at hand in Kilrossanty GAA on Sunday. With their final berth booked already it gives the Tribeswomen a chance to rotate the team and keep the legs fresh ahead of April's decider. Alternatively, Moynihan may want to continue the momentum his side have built up so far over the campaign.
Waterford currently sit third in the league table and have comfortably been the best of the rest outside of Galway and Cork. Galway will have to be on their a-game if they are to keep up their winning run.
Galway's fine performances continued last weekend as they delivered another statement win against Dublin at Tuam Stadium. In truth, the tie was as good as over after a rip-roaring first half from the Tribeswomen. Goals from Kate Slevin, Kate Thompson, and Leanne Coen helped Galway to a 3-5 to 0-6 advantage going into the interval.
There was a Dublin response in the second-half but the damage was done. Galway ran out 3-13 to 1-13 winners, another example of the attacking quality the team possesses. Olivia Divilly finished the game with 0-5, Slevin amassed 1-2, and Coen and Thompson both scored 1-1.
The mood in the Galway camp will be high going into Sunday's fixture. Victory over Waterford would maintain that feel-good factor going into that league final clash in April.
Throw-in at Kilrossanty GAA is 2pm on Sunday, March 29.
