Galway-based company The Door Centre has announced the launch of a significantly expanded prehung door and fire door manufacturing division, operating from its new purpose-built joinery facility in Carnmore, Co. Galway.
While the company has been producing prehung door kits for a number of years, continued growth and increasing demand from builders and developers has led to the move into a much larger and more advanced production facility closer to Galway city.
The new production line has been developed specifically to supply builders, developers and contractors with precision-manufactured prehung door kits designed for modern residential construction.
Prehung door sets are factory-prepared units that include the door, frame and hinge preparation, delivered to site ready for straightforward installation.
By completing the critical alignment and preparation work in a controlled manufacturing environment, prehung systems significantly reduce installation time while improving consistency and finish quality across projects.
Managing Director Karl Moore says the expansion reflects the growing demand for more efficient building methods.
“We’ve been supplying door kits for a number of years, but we simply outgrew our previous facility. Moving into a larger dedicated joinery space in Carnmore allows us to increase production capacity and support builders and developers across Galway and the wider West.”
Alongside standard internal door kits, the Carnmore facility also manufactures certified fire door sets designed to meet current building regulations and compliance standards for residential and commercial developments.
While the business continues to expand its manufacturing capability through Connaught Joinery, The Door Centre’s flagship showroom in Liosban Industrial Estate remains one of the largest door and flooring showrooms in the West of Ireland, featuring over 200 door styles and an extensive range of flooring displays for homeowners and trade customers.
