The Door Centre Galway has officially launched a dedicated in-house joinery division focused on the manufacture of precision prehung door kits and certified fire door sets for new builds, large residential developments, one-off homes, and trade customers across Connacht and the West of Ireland.
Operating from its expanded, purpose-built production facility in Carnmore, Co Galway, this new division marks a significant step forward for the Galway-based company - moving beyond retail supply and into fully controlled, scalable manufacturing.
“We’ve built this specifically for builders and developers,” says managing director Karl Moore. “Prehung doors eliminate delays, reduce site labour, and remove the risk of costly fitting errors. We wanted to create a system that works properly - from factory floor to finished site.”
Built for modern construction
Prehung door kits are fully factory-assembled door sets, complete with frame, hinges, ironmongery preparation and precision alignment, delivered to site ready for straightforward installation. Fire door sets are manufactured in line with current certification and compliance requirements, ensuring confidence and traceability on regulated projects.
With increasing pressure on timelines, labour availability and compliance standards, prehung systems are rapidly becoming the preferred solution for forward-thinking contractors.
The Door Centre’s production line combines:
• CNC precision machining.
• Controlled quality assurance processes.
• Consistent frame and hardware preparation.
• Dedicated certified fire door manufacturing capability.
• Scalable output suitable for housing schemes and multi-unit developments.
By bringing manufacturing fully in-house under the Connaught Joinery division, the company maintains complete accountability, consistency and quality control at every stage — from specification through to delivery.
Certified fire door solutions
Alongside prehung internal door kits, the new division specialises in certified fire door sets designed to meet current building regulations and compliance standards for both residential and commercial projects.
“Fire compliance is non-negotiable,” Moore explains. “Builders and developers need confidence that what arrives on site is correct, documented and ready to install. That’s exactly what we’re providing.”
Supporting builders across the west
While The Door Centre remains home to one of the region’s largest door and flooring showrooms, the launch of the dedicated joinery operation signals a clear commitment to supporting trade professionals at scale.
The company works directly with developers and housing schemes, main contractors, one-off residential builders, architects and project managers.
With streamlined quoting, production scheduling and coordinated delivery, the objective is simple: reduce friction on site, improve build efficiency, and provide a dependable manufacturing partner within the west of Ireland.
“We’re not just selling doors anymore,” Moore adds. “We’re manufacturing solutions.”
