Cupra has revealed the next generation of its Born electric hatchback.
Featuring a striking new design, improved interior and a greater technology offering, the new Born is scheduled to launch in Ireland this summer.
The new Cupra Born sits on a 58kWh battery as standard with a claimed range of 450km. New to the Born is launch control, a new pedal driving system and wider tyres for both 19-inch and 20-inch wheels.
Born's VZ trim will continue to be offered, coming with an enhanced 79kWh battery offering more than 600km range, power outputs of up to 240kW and hitting 0-100km/h in just 5.6 seconds.
The larger battery offered supports 185kW of DC charging and 11kW of AC charging.
Refreshed exterior design features include newly designed front and rear bumpers, triangular Matrix LED lights and an illuminated Cupra logo integrated into the 3D rear light.
The interior boasts a redesigned steering wheel featuring physical controls, higher perceived quality due to new door panels, and a larger 10.25-inch digital cockpit supported by augmented reality head-up display. The sound system has also been upgraded with Sennheiser Contrabass technology.
Alongside the upgraded performance, the new Born is equipped with updated safety system, Travel Assist 3.0, with cloud-enhanced longitudinal control, new Crossroad Assist, upgraded Front Assist with multi-stage warnings, and pre-crash with rear detection to deliver intelligent protection.
Irish pricing for the new Cupra Born will be confirmed closer to launch.
