University of Galway Students (CancerSoc ) step into the ring on Tuesday, March 10 at the Clayton Hotel Galway for Box in Pink, a charity boxing event in aid of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI ).
The event brings together students with a shared goal of raising funds for breast cancer research by supporting NBCRI, a Galway-based charity located at the Lambe Institute, University of Galway. Researchers funded by the institute are currently working on major national and international projects aimed at improving both the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
Current statistics show that 1 in 7 Irish women will develop breast cancer before the age of 75, with over 3,587 cases diagnosed annually, highlighting the importance of continued research and funding.
Participating students have undergone weeks of rigorous training in preparation for the event, promising an entertaining and action-packed night for all in attendance.
Tickets for Box in Pink are priced at €25 each and are available via Eventbrite (search Box in Pink Night ) or at the door on the night. All are welcome.
