Will you ‘Walk in Pink’ for breast cancer research this Mother’s Day? That’s the call from the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI ), who are inviting people across Galway to help take one step closer to a cure.
This Mother’s Day, Sunday, March 15, participants are encouraged to take a stroll, walk the dog, or gather with family and friends while raising funds for breast cancer research. In Ireland, 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, with more than 3,587 new cases each year. All funds raised from Walk in Pink will directly support the breast cancer research team at the Lambe Institute, University of Galway.
The Galway walk is organised by the NBCRI Galway Volunteer Fundraising Committee and will begin at 10.30am from the Claddagh Hall where there will be music and fun with Ollie Turner from Galway Bay FM and a Zumba warm-up by Shree before participants head of across the top of South Park, along the prom to Blackrock and back.
To take part, simply register online at www.WalkInPink.ie for €25. All who register will receive a FREE Walk in Pink woollen hat.
So, this Mother’s Day lace up your walking shoes, wear pink with pride, and help make a real difference for Irish women affected by breast cancer.
