Galway's senior camogie side will aim to get back to winning ways against Tipperary this Saturday.

Two losses from two games would not have been the plan for Cathal Murray's team but the weekend offers the reigning All-Ireland champions the opportunity to build some momentum. Preparation for last weekend's defeat to Waterford was undoubtedly hindered by their problems escaping New York's snowstorm.

With a week's training under their belts, the Tribeswomen will be keen to get off the mark. Tipp's only league win this campaign came in their 13-point annihilation of Antrim on the opening day. They fell to Kilkenny, who defeated Galway on day one, in a five-point victory for the Cats last weekend.

Galway would have been disappointed to lose last weekend, but context is important. Waterford have enjoyed a lightning start to the league season, defeating Cork on the opening day. Na Deise were aided by a strong breeze in the first-half which allowed them to establish a 0-8 to 0-1 lead going into the interval. Carrie Dolan's 13th minute free was her side's only score of the half.

Galway's slow start is understandable due to only returning from the US on Wednesday night. Although they came out firing after the break, they just left themselves with too much to do. Niamh Mallon's scoring ability was an encouraging aspect of the Galway display.

Minutes in the legs is the most important thing at this stage. That, and a full week on the training pitch will stand to Cathal Murray's charges.

The Tribeswomen will be eager to taste victory. Throw-in is 2pm on Saturday, with the venue still to be confirmed.
