The suspected ketamine was found in a vehicle stopped by Gardaí on Bóthar na dTreabh.

Gardaí attached to the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit arrested a man and seized suspected ketamine valued at €63,000 in the city last evening.

Gardaí stopped a car at Bóthar na dTreabh on Sunday night as part of Operation Tara, an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs and related crime in the region,

A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested and detained at a station in the Garda North Western Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

In a follow-up search at a residential property in Dublin 15, Gardaí seized €5,000 in cash and a quantity of cocaine.

The man was released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
