Galway City Council’s International Relations Office has announced a new call for proposals from organisations, institutions, and partners committed to strengthening Galway’s global presence and advancing the city’s cultural, economic, and diplomatic connections worldwide.
The initiative seeks projects that promote Galway internationally, build meaningful cross?border partnerships, and attract international visitors and collaborators particularly during off?peak periods to support year?round vibrancy across the city.
Proposals should demonstrate clear cultural, economic, or diplomatic benefits and reflect Galway’s identity as a creative, inclusive, and internationally engaged city.
Eligible projects are expected to include strong international engagement potential, a high?quality visitor or participant experience, and a robust delivery plan.
Galway City Council will assess applications based on international impact, economic and cultural contribution, inclusivity, accessibility, and alignment with existing international relationships.
Applicants must provide a detailed project description, an economic and cultural impact plan, a full budget including co?funding sources, and any additional information relevant to the project’s international dimension.
Standard governance requirements apply, and certain costs such as equipment purchases, accommodation in Galway City, and ongoing operational expenses will not be eligible for funding.
The deadline for submissions is 6 February 2026.
