Artist Lily Hughes

Renowned Galway artist, Lily Hughes of Renmore, a practitioner of over 25 years and a lifelong advocate for the arts in Galway, is to host an exhibition of her work from tomorrow with the proceeds to go towards helping the fantastic work of the Galway Hospice.

Lily, who recently turned 88 is a great example of local artistic talent using her skills to help a loved and much needed local institution.

To support the incredible work of Galway Hospice, Lily is hosting the charity art exhibition at the Town Hall Theatre Gallery, opening tomorrow Friday January 9 and running for two weeks.

All proceeds from the sale of her paintings will be donated directly to Galway Hospice.

This exhibition is very much a labour of love, combining her passion for art with her desire to give back to a service that means so much to the local community.

Lily has been deeply involved in Galway’s cultural life over the decades and is also one of the founding members of the Renmore Pantomime.

She recently celebrated her 88th birthday and is still actively creating and exhibiting her work — a wonderful testament to lifelong creativity and community spirit.
