St Stephen’s Day delivered another outstanding chapter in the history of the Fields of Athenry 10K, with thrilling performances, record participation, and perfect racing conditions combining to create a memorable event.

Irish Life Dublin Marathon National Champion Ava Crean claimed victory in the women’s race with a superb time of 33:40. Her performance is currently under review and may be ratified as a new Irish Under-20 national record, adding further significance to an already impressive win.

The men’s race was equally compelling, with Jamie Fallon of Craughwell AC taking top honours in a fast time of 30:34 after a highly competitive contest.

This year’s event also saw record-breaking ticket sales, with close to 3,000 entries and approximately 2,400 runners taking to the streets of Athenry. Athletes were greeted by perfect weather conditions, a fantastic atmosphere, and tremendous support from spectators along the course.

The event was sponsored by Kare Plus Ireland, with platinum sponsors The Castle Group providing the lead car on the day, helping ensure a smooth and professional race experience.
