Ballybane Community Hub is full of festive spirit

Ballybane Community Hub is full of festive spirit and warm welcomes this season, with a range of activities designed to bring neighbours together and support the space that so many rely on. Tickets are now on sale for the Hub’s annual festive hamper draw, with every euro raised going directly towards the upkeep of the building—helping keep it warm, inviting, and open to all.

The Hub is open daily from 11am to 2pm, and visitors are encouraged to drop in, purchase a ticket, and enjoy a complimentary tea or coffee and a festive mince pie. The Hub can be reached at 087 199 4360 and is located at 30 Béal Srutha, H91 TW27, with convenient parking beside Ballybane Library.

In the lead-up to Christmas, the Hub’s Sensory Room is also available as a peaceful retreat. Parents, adults, or anyone in need of a quiet moment are welcome to book a slot, settle in with a warm drink, and take a well-deserved breather from the hustle and bustle. To reserve a time, simply contact Donal at the number above.

Looking ahead, the Hub is set to brighten up the dark January evenings with a community Board Game Night on Wednesday, 7 January at 6.30pm. Whether you enjoy Scrabble, draughts, chess, cards, or have a favourite game of your own, all are invited to join in. Boards will be provided, though guests are welcome to bring their own. Tea and coffee will be available, with small donations appreciated to support running costs.

For younger community members, the Ballybane Youth Shed will host a Christmas Craft Class on Saturday, 13 December from 2pm to 4pm for children aged 8 to 14. Those interested can simply arrive at the Hub at 2pm on the day.

Ballybane Community Hub continues to be a warm, inclusive, and lively centre for all—especially during this special time of year.
