St Nicholas’ to host Halloween feast as part of Gaillimh Ah-Boo! festival

The historic St Nicholas’s Church will host Féasta Fómhair (Harvest Feast ) – a one-night-only dining experience curated by acclaimed chef JP McMahon, as part of Gaillimh Ah-Boo! the vibrant city-wide Samhain celebration of food, folklore, and feasting.

Inspired by seasonal produce, local heritage, and storytelling, this dinner brings together some of Galway’s finest chefs and Blas na Gaillimhe producers for a cultural and culinary highlight of the festival.

Guests will enjoy a cosy, candlelit setting with seasonal décor inside Galway’s medieval St Nicholas’s Church. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available, and dietary requirements can be catered for.

The Halloween evening on Friday, October 31 starts with a complimentary welcome drink on arrival at 6.30pm, followed by a five-course harvest dinner beginning at 7pm

The menu will highlight the best of Blas producers, introduced on the night by chefs Dermot Dalton (First Bite Catering ) and Martin Ruffley (Atlantic Technological University ). Dishes will feature produce from celebrated local suppliers, including Galway Bay Seafoods, Kelly Oysters, Anna Coston Cakes, Beechlawn Farm and more. Drinks will be from local artisan makers, including Micil Gin.

Tickets are €95 per person, and include a welcome drink and one drink with dinner. Additional wines and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

Early booking is strongly advised

“Our Féasta Fómhair celebrates the ancient roots of Samhain with the flavours of Galway’s land and sea,” said event organiser JP McMahon. “This is food as story and sustainability – a feast that connects us to our Celtic and Irish heritage while showcasing the incredible producers and chefs of the region.”
