Clarinbridge 1-12 Mullagh 1-10

Last year's Senior B County champions have booked their place in the Windows and Rooflights LTD Senior A Championship semi-final after a two-point win over Mullagh in a blustery Kilbeacanty last Saturday.

Carrie Dolan’s accuracy from frees was pivotal to their victory on the day. Rachel Monaghan and Dolan swapped frees in the opening ten minutes. Player of the year nominee Aoife Dohonue and Monaghan added points to Mullagh’s tally by the midway point of the half. Scores were hard to come by for the remining 15 minutes as Mullagh went in ahead on a scoreline of 0-4 0-3 at the break.

Mullagh got off to the dream start in the second half with a Monaghan free and two quickfire points from Tegan Canning. Dolan followed on the 35th minute with her first point from play but one minute later, Canning’s purple patch continued as she hit the back of the net for Mullagh to give them a five-point lead.

Dolan led from the front for Clarinbridge and answered with three frees. On the 43rd minute, she found the back of the net for Clarinbridge to give them the lead for the first time in the game. Monaghan hit back with two placed balls by the 46th minute while Isobel Whyte and Canning swapped scores to leave Mullagh 1-10 to 1-8 ahead heading into the final eight minutes of normal time.

But it was the 2025 All-Ireland winning captain who showed her leadership to slot over four placed balls for Clarinbridge during the remainder of the game as Clarinbridge went on to win by two points. They will now face the All-Ireland Champions, Sarsfields, next weekend in the semi-final.

Ardrahan 1-14 Davitts 1-16

Davitts edged out Ardrahan in a thrilling Senior A quarter-final last Sunday morning in Kilbeacanty to book their spot in the Senior A semi-final next week.

Siobhán Gardiner opened the scoring from the throw-in when she pointed for Ardrahan. Two Catherine Hanley points, one through a free, and a point from Claire Blake had Davitts in front after six minutes. Aisling Dolphin and Ava Lynskey brought the sides back level but Ciara Hickey edged her side back in front at the midway point of the half.

However, Ardrahan were awarded a penalty and Gardiner made no mistake in sticking the ball in the back of the Davitts net to restore their lead. Leah Behan and Lynskey swapped scores, but Davitts took a hold of the game again with a goal from Lorraine Farrell and another Behan point. Lynskey and Dolphin swapped scores with Chloe Farragher and Blake but it was Ardrahan who had the final say of the half with another Dolphin free to leave the sides deadlocked at 1-8 apiece at the break.

Hickey and Dolphin exchanged scores in the opening four minutes of the second half. Hanley, through a free, and Leah Behan followed with a point each to edge Davitts in front again but Dolphin scored a placed ball to reduce the deficit to the minimum by the 40th minute.

Hanley slotted over her fourth point of the day through a placed ball but Gardiner and Dolphin pointed to bring the sides level with 14 minutes of normal time remaining. Hanley and Farrell edged Davitts in front again by the 51st minute. Dolphin pointed another free for Ardrahan but two Hanley points from play either side of a point from Olivia Keehan helped Davitts in getting over the line by two points.

They now face Athenry in the semi-final next weekend.
