The bad weather did not deter over 300 guests from attending the JWT Cruise Show on Sunday at the Salthill Hotel — It was in fact the perfect opportunity to book an exciting holiday and dreaming of sunnier shores. Now in its second year, the JWT Cruise Show was organised by the JWT Travel team in Galway, led by travel expert Caroline O’Toole.
This year they have seen a big interest from guests new to cruising, she explains. “We had many guests looking to experience cruising for the first time, and river cruising was a big hit this year. In addition to traditional Mediterranean and Caribbean cruise destinations, Thailand, Japan and Alaska were three of the most popular destinations requested on the day,” she added.
New this year, the JWT Cruise show had an area for speaker sessions with engaging presentations from the different cruise lines represented at the show, where guests had a chance to ask questions to the experts.
Exhibitors at the show included both ocean cruise lines and river cruise companies as well as escorted tours specialists:
MSC/Explora Journeys, Riviera Travel, Travelmarvel, JMG Cruises Ambassador, Avalon Waterways, Azamara Cruises, Cunard, Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean and Travel Department, as well as JWT Cruises and JWT Travel.
“We were really happy with how the show went, the interest and enthusiasm on the day,” adds Caroline “We are looking forward to next year’s edition!
The two raffle winners of the Blackrock Pantry hampers were Sharon Maher and Lyn Wrafter. Winners of the two €500 vouchers will be announced by JWT Cruises this week.
