Inaugural Corrib Féile-FLOW starts tomorrow

Corrib Beo has announced the inaugural Corrib Féile-FLOW, from September 19 to September 21 at Oughterard Courthouse.

The Corrib Féile-FLOW festival works to raise awareness of the ecological and cultural values of Lough Corrib and to understand how to protect and restore water quality.

The festival opens tomorrow Friday, September 19, where the evening will feature the Uachter Arts recent Corrib art exhibition entitled “Lough Corrib, Our Legacy – Ár gCroí”, guest speakers Luke Drea, Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO ), a display of banners themed “Lough Corrib: A Rich Heritage”, and the premiere of a polyphonic visual collage by Dr. Stefano Odorico, offering insights into the diverse perceptions of Lough Corrib.

On Saturday, September 20, the festival activities move to the monastic isle of Inchagoill. Corrib Cruises will depart from both Oughterard and Lisloughrey (Cong ) piers at 12:30 pm. The programme includes guided walks and talks led by David and Patrick Luskin and ecologists Jo Ruane and Dr. Cillian Roden, supported by Galway City Council.

Tickets, available via Eventbrite, are required for the launch event. Tickets for Saturday, September 20, are free, and it is open to the public with no need for advance booking. Tickets for the boat trip are available via Eventbrite and are €30 per person. Advance booking is essential for this event due to capacity constraints. This event is not suitable for children.
