Titled 'A Life Lived on the Line', O'Mahony's legacy as an All-Ireland winning manager and the future of Gaelic football will be discussed in St Nathy’s College, Ballaghaderreen, on Friday, August 8. The evening will be hosted by Marty Morrissey.
A host of GAA legends have been assembled for the evening including Galway senior football manager Pádraic Joyce; Armagh boss Kieran McGeeney; former Roscommon senior football captain and manager, Fergal O’Donnell; former Leitrim footballer Declan Darcy; former Kerry footballer Marc Ó Sé; former Mayo and Donegal footballer Martin Carney; current Galway footballer John Maher; current Mayo and Ballaghaderreen footballer, David McBrien and GAA pundit, Tommy Rooney.
The event is hosted by Ballaghaderreen Arts Festival 2025 along with Ballaghaderreen GAA and follows last year’s ‘Saving Gaelic Football’ event organised by O’Mahony himself. Jim Gavin, All-Ireland winning Dublin manager and Chair of the GAA’s Football Review Group, was interviewed by Seán O’Rourke about the upcoming revolution in the rules of Gaelic Football.
Continuing that theme, this year’s event will offer insights from key players, managers and pundits on the Gaelic Football scene on the impact of the new rules and the future of Gaelic Football.
The event is being hosted as part of this year’s Ballaghaderreen Arts Festival, which takes place between August 2 and 10.
