Subaru has announced plans to launch three new fully-electric models in Ireland next year.
The three models – the Uncharted, E-Outback and updated Solterra – will all be based on the e-Subaru Global Platform which has been developed alongside Toyota, offering a choice of all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive powertrains.
Uncharted
The Subaru Uncharted is the brand’s first all-electric compact SUV. Three drivetrain options will be available for the Uncharted, the core option being the dual motor All-Wheel-Drive system. The 77kWh battery provides 252kW (344ps ), a claimed range of up to 470km, a 0-100 km/h sprint in five seconds and 1500kg of towing capability.
A Long-Range and Front-Wheel Drive (FWD ) versions will also be available, with the former delivering a claimed range of up to 585km using the same 77kWh battery but powered with a single motor. The FWD option has a smaller 57.7kWh battery offering a claimed range of 445km. All versions of the Subaru Uncharted are equipped with a 22kW on-board charger as standard.
E-Outback
Inspired by the 30-year legacy of Subaru’s Outback, the E-Outback sits on a 74.7kWh battery, providing 280kW (380ps ) and enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, while also offering a claimed range of over 450km.
The E-Outback is fitted with the Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD system, and is complemented by 210mm of ground clearance, a dual X-MODE terrain selection system and provides a 1500kg towing capacity. The E-Outback further benefits from a comprehensive range of passive and active safety systems, including Emergency Driving Stop, Secondary Collision Braking, and EyeSight Driving Assist system-inspired features.
Updated Solterra
Three years after the launch of Subaru’s first electric SUV, the Solterra has been refreshed with significant hardware and software upgrades, as well as new styling.
The dual e-axles now deliver 252kW (344ps ), enabling the Solterra to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds. The drive battery capacity has increased to 73.1kWh and is said to be capable of exceeding 500km on a full charge. Further battery improvements have also resulted in faster charging speeds, with the new Solterra now able to charge from 10-80 per cent in just 30 minutes at -10°C, with pre-conditioning and an optional 22kW AC charger. Towing capacity has also doubled to 1500kg.
Additionally, the Subaru Solterra has undergone a design refresh, with purposeful aero-optimised front styling, a redesigned interior, and an advanced 14-inch infotainment display. Safety has been enhanced with added camera support for all-surface awareness.
The Subaru Uncharted and Solterra models are due to launch in Ireland in early 2026, with the Subaru E-Outback arriving mid-2026. Pricing and spec will be confirmed closer to launch.
