Claddagh Credit Union is proud to announce the installation of a publicly accessible Automated External Defibrillator (AED ) outside its Mainguard Street branch. This important addition improves emergency readiness and underlines our longstanding commitment to community safety.
The AED will be available 24/7 for anyone in need in the busy Mainguard Street area, offering a vital resource in the event of sudden cardiac arrest.
“Thirteen people suffer cardiac arrests every day. Unfortunately, it takes an average of 28 minutes for an ambulance to arrive. If a defibrillator can reach someone within 10 minutes, there’s a real chance of saving their life. That’s why it’s so important to see Claddagh Credit Union, at the heart of the community, supporting this lifesaving heart initiative.” Neil McNelis, Green Hearts Medical.”
“At Claddagh Credit Union, we are dedicated not only to supporting our members financially, but also looking after the well-being of our wider community,” said Ted Coyle, Deputy CEO of Claddagh Credit Union. “By making the defibrillator available 24 hours a day, we hope to provide reassurance and potentially save lives in an emergency.”
Members of the public are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the device’s location and operation.
