Plans for the proposed and much-needed Primary Care Centre in Oughterard will proceed this summer when the procurement process for the site commences.
In response to questions from Cllr Eileen Mannion, this week’s meeting of the HSE Regional Health Forum was told that the procurement process for the proposed centre at Oughterard is due to commence in early Q3 2025.
Cllr Mannion was told that the facility could be open in the next 48 months.
The estimated delivery timeframe for a PCC of this size would be 3-4 years from initiation on the basis that there are no delays experienced with the legal negotiations, no delays associated with the site acquisition or funding provision and no delays in obtaining planning permission.
