Free event for aspiring and working writers at Kennys Bookshop this Saturday

If you have ever considered writing for young people, this is the event for you. Authors Dave Rudden, Patricia Forde and Alex Dawson will be at Kennys Bookshop, Liosbán this Saturday June 14 at 6pm to discuss, in conversation with Tomás Kenny, their horror stories and how they write for young people - from their inspirations to redrafting to navigating that submission process.

All are welcome, and the authors will be happy to answer your burning questions! Tickets are free and can be booked at www.kennys.ie/events

Patricia Forde is Ireland’s seventh Laureate na nÓg. She writes novels, picture books, children’s television and middle-grade novels in Irish.

Dave Rudden is the author of the Knights of the Borrowed Dark trilogy, as well as multiple works in the Doctor Who universe. He is DCU’s Artist-in-Residence and regularly mentors students in Ireland and abroad.

A veteran theatrician and bookseller, Alex Dawson is the only professor of creative writing in Rutgers University. His debut novel, Welcome to White Hart, will be published by Little Island in 2026.
