From June 9 to 15, communities across Ireland will unite for Men’s Health Week 2025, a national initiative aimed at shining a light on men’s health and wellbeing and encouraging men to take proactive steps toward healthier lives. This year’s theme, “Shoulder-to-Shoulder – Connecting for Health,” serves as a timely reminder of the role that connection, conversation, and community play in supporting men’s physical and mental wellbeing.
T O’Higgins Homevalue Hardware, based in Shantalla, will kick off the local festivities with a Men’s Health Fair hosted on-site on Monday, June 9, between 11am and 3pm. This event will mark the start of a series of health-focused activities across the region, transforming a well-known local businesses such as T O’Higgins into a hub for health awareness, outreach, and engagement. The health fair will feature a range of supports, including free health checks, information stands hosted by local health and wellbeing organisations, and a prize draw on the day for attendees who receive a health check.
Through this initiative, T O’Higgins is fostering greater community participation and raising awareness around men’s health — particularly among tradesmen — by offering a familiar and approachable setting where individuals can engage in meaningful dialogue and connect with local health supports.
Men’s Health Week 2025 is more than a calendar event. It’s a call to action for individuals, families, and communities to stand shoulder-to-shoulder and support one another in building healthier futures.
The week is supported by the Men’s Health Forum in Ireland (MHFI ), in collaboration with Healthy Ireland HSC, Healthy Ireland local government for Galway, Roscommon and Mayo and a range of local community agencies invested in men’s health.
