Witnesses sought following fire at derelict Ballinasloe hospital

Gardaí in Ballinasloe are investigating the fire in a derelict area of St Brigid's Hospital, Ballinasloe, on Tuesday, April 15, at 9:30pm.

Five fire units attended, and the fire was extinguished, but the investigation is ongoing.

Home burgled in Ballinasloe

Gardaí in Ballinasloe are investigating a burglary at Dunlo Court in Ballinasloe that occurred on Monday, April 21, between 1:10pm and 1:15pm.

The injured party was asleep in bed and was awoken by a male ransacking the spare room. The suspect male fled the scene and forced the back door to exit.

Burglary in Dunmore

Gardaí are investigating a burglary at Gortagarraun, Dunmore, that occurred on Wednesday, April 16, between 9am and 9:30pm.

The rear door of this premises was forced open, and a copper cylinder and external tap were removed.

Vehicles damaged at University of Galway and Galway University Hospital

Gardaí at Galway Garda Station are investigating the criminal damage to three vehicles that occurred nearby at the same time.

The first involves a black Hyundai I30 Hatchback. This was parked in a University of Galway car park adjacent to Newcastle Road. In the early hours of Saturday, April 19, between midnight and 2am the front driver's side window was smashed.

The second incident involves a black Aqua Hatchback. This was parked in a University of Galway car park.

The injured party returned to the vehicle after work at 1am on Saturday, April 19, to find the driver's side window had been smashed.

The third incident involves the University Hospital Galway car park. The vehicle involved was a silver Volkswagen Golf.

The injured party had parked the car there overnight from 8pm on Friday, April 18, to 8am on Saturday, April 19. The front passenger window of this vehicle was smashed.
