Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland has announced full pricing and specification details for the new Transporter and Caravelle.

Transporter

The new generation Transporter offers a significant increase in space, more body styles, higher payload, significantly optimised efficiency and state-of-the-art car-like features.

Priced from €39,265, the Transporter is available in Ireland with a variety of efficient turbodiesel and electric drive systems. Three newly developed 2.0-litre four-cylinder TDI engines, with outputs of 110PS, 150PS and 170PS, form the basis of the internal combustion engine line-up. A choice of six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmissions are available as well as all-wheel drive 4Motion versions.

The new e-Transporter is priced from €53,695 after grants. It comes with an all-electric, rear-wheel powered drivetrain featuring three outputs - 136PS, 218PS and 286PS. All versions get their power from a 64kWh net capacity battery, giving a range of up to 331km (WLTP ) on a single charge. An optional all-wheel drive version is due to follow.

The Transporter panel van is offered in short and long wheelbase guises with normal or high roofs, giving customers the load carrying capacity they prefer.

Base versions measure 5,050mm long, an increase of 146mm compared with their T6.1 predecessor. The wheelbase has increased by 97mm to 3,100mm. Long wheelbase versions of the Transporter and Caravelle have a total length of 5,440mm.

Entry level 'Trendline' models (from €39,265 ) feature a generous list of standard equipment, including cruise control, keyless start, six-way adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, LED roof lights, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, 12-inch digital cockpit and 13-inch touchscreen with DAB+, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The 'PanAmericana' (from €42,840 ) adds 19-inch alloys, LED headlights with separate LED daytime running lights, stainless steel scuff plates with illuminated "PanAmericana" lettering, heated seats, PanAmericana seat coverings, 15W USB charging ports and a 12v outlet in dashboard.

Caravelle

Pricing for the new Caravelle starts from €62,725 and has been developed with professional passenger transport in mind.

Entry level models come with six rear seats on board: three removable individual seats in the second row and a removable three-seat bench in the third row. At the front, the Caravelle can be optionally equipped with a double bench seat, transforming it from an eight-seater into a nine-seater ('Shuttle' and 'Life' trim levels only ).

Engine options include the 2.0 TDI 150PS, available with manual and automatic transmissions, and the 170PS TDI which comes with an automatic box. The all-electric e-Caravelle comes with two power outputs – 136PS and 218PS.
