Athenry Juvenile AC bring medals and new PBs home

The All-Ireland National Juvenile Indoor Championships took place over the weekend in Athlone. The club were well represented with five athletes participating over the two days.

Cian Casserly secured 12th place overall in an extremely fast-paced race in the under 12 600m. Casserly also banked a new personal best of 1.50.24.

Eva Carroll is establishing herself as a fantastic hurdler as she came ninth overall in the under 13 60m. She also achieved a new personal best of 10.49.83 but narrowly missed out on qualifying in what proved a fierce competition.

Noah Brady is no stranger to the Shot Put. He placed himself in the great position of second place overall and earned himself the silver medal with a staggering throw of 12.06 in the under 13 Shot Put.

Harry Melia, a talented athlete with his speed and endurance, bagged himself new personal best of 9.27 and qualified for the final of the under 14 60m. He produced a stellar performance in the final in which he took his place on the podium bringing the bronze medal home.

On day two, Eva Carroll was back in action in the under 13 60m. She ran a great race and secured another new personal best of 8.87 at an All-Ireland National Level.

Rian Collins ran a super run in the under 18 1,500m, finishing strong with a fantastic new personal best of 4.17.06. He finished sixth in his heat and 10th overall.
