The Centre for Adult Learning & Professional Development at the University of Galway offers a series of 8-week, non-accredited evening courses in a variety of different subject areas:

Mondays

· SNAS – Gearrchúrsa Gaeilge (Ar Líne/Online )

· An Introduction to Gemmology: understanding the science behind a gem (Online )

Tuesdays

· Brush Up Your French (Online )

· Trainer Skills: A Beginners Guide (On Campus )

Wednesdays

· Seven Ages, Eight Taoisigh: Irish political history, 1922-1992 (On Campus )

· An Introduction History to Western Philosophy (On Campus )

· The Galway Hooker: Enabler of life in the 19th and early 20th Century Galway Bay (Online )

Thursdays

· Irish Literature: from Moore to Enright (Online )

· ‘The Little Things’: 20th Century Irish Political Crises (On Campus )

· The Practice of Poetry (On Campus )

· Mediating Texts: Irish mythology and folklore made visible (Online + On Campus )

Saturday (1st & 8th March, 10am-4pm )

· Alexander Technique (On Campus )

The short courses will commence the week of 10th February and are run over 8 weeks, one evening per week. On Campus classes run from 7pm to 9pm and online classes run from 7:30pm to 9pm. Our courses cost €145. Note: the Galway Hooker costs €75 (4 weeks duration ).

1. The prize is a free place on one of the short courses with the Centre for Adult Learning & Professional Development at University of Galway this February.

2. Courses are run subject to a minimum number of enrolments.

3. Once selected, the winner will be contacted by the Galway Advertiser to arrange delivery of the prize.

4. The Prize is non-transferable.

5. Winners must be over 18 years of age.

6. Entries must be entered online in the form above.

7. Entries not submitted in accordance with these rules will be disqualified.

8. Entry to this promotion shall be deemed full and unconditional acceptance to the terms and conditions.

9. The promoters reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions.

10. Details of the competition winner will be posted on the Galway Advertiser’s Facebook page and the winner will be notified by email. You have 7 days to claim your prize once contacted by email.
