Sinn Fein Easter commemoration events in city and county

Easter is a special time for Irish Republicans, and County Galway was one of the main areas that rose in 1916 in defence of the Irish Republic, having the second largest uprising in the country after Dublin.

Once again Sinn Féin gathers to honour those who gave their lives in defence of the Irish Republic and they invite all members of the public to join them at their events this Easter Weekend:

Speakers/wreath laying will be led by Mairéad Farrell TD and the selected Local Election Area candidates in their respective areas: Kevin O’Hara, Stiofan de Lundres Ó Dálaigh, Ailish O’Reilly, Lucina Kelly, Cllr Dermot Connolly, Louis O’Hara, Deborah Reynolds, Cathal Ó Conchúir, Mark Lohan, Aisling Burke.

Jim Ward will read the Proclamation of the Irish Republic for the main Galway city commemoration on Easter Saturday.
