Community Climate Action public information meeting in Renmore

People living on the east side of the city have been urged by Independent Councillor Terry O’Flaherty to attend a Community Climate Action public information meeting in Renmore Community Centre next Tuesday, December 12.

This, the third in a series of such meetings organised by Galway City Council for different areas of the city, it will run from 6.30pm until 8.30pm.

“I feel it’s really important that people from the area try to attend this meeting, with so much information available about subjects like how they can make their homes more comfortable and warm, and ways to make even small changes that will help our environment — and the grants that are available to help them,” said Councillor O’Flaherty.

The meeting will cover a range of topics including: Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI ) home energy grants; The draft Galway City Climate Action Plan;The Community Climate Action Fund;A solar panel and heat pump demonstration; Home retrofits;Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO ) home heating;An electric car demonstration;Active and public transport; Local Enterprise Office (LEO ) supports for business; Finances available.At 7.30pm, a representative from the SEAI will give a talk on home energy grants, and a representative of Galway City Council will talk about the council’s draft Climate Action Plan and the Community Climate Action Fund.
