100,000th Polestar 2 delivered to Irish customer

Swedish EV brand Polestar has delivered its 100,000th produced Polestar 2, with the milestone model being collected by Tony Lanigan from Castleknock in Dublin.

Production of this Polestar 2 was celebrated with unique decals on the doors, and a design book signed by Polestar CEO, Thomas Ingenlath, which has included in the car handover at the ‘Polestar Space’ in Sandyford.

“We’re excited to have delivered the 100,000th produced Polestar 2, especially since it happened to be a car destined for Ireland and an Irish customer,” says Kieran Campbell, market lead for Polestar in Ireland.

Polestar reveals new Polestar 4 Coupe SUV

Early next year (2024 ) Polestar will launch their next new car, a coupe SUV. The Polestar 4 promises to be an electric performance coupé and SUV combined. Though tagged ‘4’, it actually sits between the smaller Polestar 2 and the larger Polestar 3.

The talk-lines on this new car are a possible entry-level price tag here in Ireland of circa €65,000. A dual-motor version will cost you a lot more.

An interesting feature of the Polestar 4 is that it will have no rear window. It will have a high-definition screen instead showing a real-time feed from a roof-mounted camera. Rear passengers will have reclining seats and enjoy adjustable ambient lighting inspired by the solar system.

There will be single and dual-motor versions, with single-motor versions driven through the rear-wheels. Both long-range versions feature a large 102 kWh battery, which Polestar claims will deliver up to an impressive 600km (in WLTP conditions ). All Polestar 4’s will have a heat pump as standard.
