Mystic pair make Euro team

Two basketball players from NUIG Mystics have been selected on the Ireland squad to compete in the FIBA U20 Women’s European Championship.

Hazel Finn (NUIG Mystics ) and Kara McCleane (NUIG Mystics ), are two of 12 players named to compete in Sopron, Hungary from July 8 to 16.

The two Galway players came through a final trial game against American college team Gustavus Adolphus College, and are two of six players who featured in the FIBA U18 Women's European Challengers last year.

Ireland are in Group D, alongside Serbia, Latvia and Portugal - which replaced Russia after the country was barred from international competition.
