New all-electric car brand on the horizon

A new car manufacturer plans its launch in the Republic of Ireland in the second-half of this year.

Great Wall Motor (GWM ) plans to offer a new, innovative, and pure electric passenger car brand – GWM ORA.

It is now seeking Irish car retailers to take on the all-electric brand, which it says is bringing a fresh new look to the electric mobility market. It says the GWM ORA all-electric car brand comes with promised class comfort, safety and connectivity features.

The first model of many, the Funky Cat will go on sale here in Ireland later this year. The company says with its authentic design, GWM ORA combines human-centricity with intelligent technologies. It also boasts it will contains segment leading levels of standard specification.

GWM says inside it is full of character with intuitive, easy to use tech that keeps people connected on the go. It is 100 per cent electric and promises a very competitive range and charging times.

GWM claims the ORA brand will bring a fresh new look to the electric mobility market in Ireland, and that it will deliver intelligent, driver centric technical features, embraced with an authentic design to its customers. With pricing and specification still to be finalised, it does however promise features including an authentic design with multiple exterior colours, L2 level ADAS, a 10.25 inch touchscreen display, and what it describes as comfort cabin features. It is also promising 80Kw DC charging, APP remote control, and what it says is a comprehensive five-year vehicle warranty.

Seeking dealers

GWM ORA Ireland is looking to recruit retailers throughout the Republic of Ireland with showroom space to accommodate a seven-vehicle line-up in order to support the launch of additional models in Europe.
