St Brendan's bow out of All Ireland

Mullinahone denied Galway's St Brendan's a place in this year's currentaccount.ie All-Ireland Junior Ladies' Club final by a goal, 1-6 to 0- 6, at John Locke’s GAA club in Callan.

Lorraine O’Shea’s first-half goal made all the difference, while Kilkenny camogie star Denise Gaule also shone for the Tipperary club, opening the scoring after two minutes.

Liadan Greally equalised for St Brendan’s with a good score a minute later before O’Shea put the Munster side back in front when finishing a great move to fire to the net.

St Brendan's were able to reduce deficit to 1-2 to 0-2 by the water break through Michelle Delaney, who added two successive points on the resumption, linking up well with Becca Conway on both occasions.

Although O’Shea again had a big say with a pointed free to lead at half-time by 1-3 to 0-4, St Brendan’s were quick to attack after the break, but a goal shot from Conway went narrowly wide.

Delaney and O’Shea exchanged points before Brendan’s goalkeeper Sinéad Kelly saved a penalty from her opposite number Alice Browning. When St Brendan’s lost Leann Walsh to the sin-bin, Mullinahone took control to see out the game
