Gardaí in Ballinasloe are appealing for witnesses in relation to a serious assault that took place in Mountbellew in the early hours of Sunday December 12.
At around 1.15am a young male was seriously injured during an altercation with a second male in the Square, Mountbellew.
Gardaí are appealing to any person who witnessed the altercation to come forward. They are further appealing to anyone who was socialising in Mountbellew on Saturday night/Sunday morning and may have noticed any unusual activity to contact investigating gardaí.
