Four marketing Awards in one week is no mean feat for Lorg Media, a creative and social media marketing agency based in Galway’s West End. The bi-lingual agency was crowned ‘Best Small Agency’ at the 2021 Sockies, Social Media Marketing Awards which took place at Dublin’s Liberty Hall on Thursday evening last. It was the first time in the 11 year history of the Social Media Awards that a ‘Best Agency’ award has been won outside of the capital.

On the night of the Sockies, Ireland’s annual top social media awards, Lorg Media competed against Ireland’s biggest and best brands and also received a Silver Award for their Video Campaign with Foras na Gaeilge to celebrate the launch of the new Concise English-Irish Dictionary last autumn, as well as a Bronze Award for their Multi-Platform Campaign - Event and Initiatives for the same #Foclóir campaign with their client Foras na Gaeilge.

Earlier this week their “Filleadh Abhaile” campaign with Conamara Láir, in collaboration with Aniar TV and Údarás na Gaeltachta, was awarded Best Social Media Campaign at the Gradaim Chumarsáide Awards, which took place at Farmleigh House hosted by Oireachtas na Gaeilge. The social media campaign which went on to gain national and International headlines, highlighted the benefits of living in central Connemara and showcased why people should think of moving there.

Following their successful week, Lorg Media founder and Managing Director Loretta Ní Ghabháin expressed her delight.

“We love nothing more at Lorg Media than to promote all things Irish and bringing four awards home in one week is something that doesn’t happen every day! Ten years ago winning best agency was but a dream, one that came true on Thursday night.

“I’m so very lucky to work with a fantastic team that trust each other and this same trust is one that our clients instill in us too. To be recognised at the Sockies for our work with Foras na Gaeilge for the multi-media campaign promoting our national language and the first major English-Irish dictionary in over 60 years was something very special.”

Damien Mulley, founder of the Sockies Awards which is now in its 11th year and sees hundreds of brands, agencies and government bodies showcase their social media campaigns, said “Lorg Media’s work has impressed the judges every year and their growth trajectory has been reflected in how well they did this year. 2021 saw them win Small Agency of the Year and we hope their story of growth will inspire others.”
