John Caulfield's Galway United delivered a dynamic display at Eamonn Deacy Park to secure an important SSE Airtricity League first division win.

Goals from Wilson Waweru, Mikie Rowe, Shane Doherty, and Padraic Cunningham ensured Caulfield's charges prevailed.

Waweru pounced to score in the 39th minute ensuring United led at the interval following a lively opening period.

After the restart Rowe rifled a 67th minute goal following smart approach work by Waweru and David Hurley.

Substitute Shane Doherty added a third as United continued to perform impressively. UCD narrowed the gap when United goalkeeper Luke Dennison spilled the bal in a packed area for a strange goal.

It scarcely mattered, though, as Doherty's assist enabled Cunningham to seal the deal with five minutes remaining.
