Kelly inspires United U19s

Colin Kelly scored four for Brendan O'Connor's team

Colin Kelly was in splendid form as Galway United U19s defeated Derry City 8-2 in Maree on Sunday afternoon.

Brendan O’Connor’s side were inspired by Kelly, who scored four and was also involved in the creation of further goals, as United impressed with Mikey McCullagh 2, Charlie Concannon, and Mikey Conlon also netting.

Martin Devlin’s U17s enjoyed a 1-0 win over Treaty United with David Tarmey on target once again.

Kyle Fitzgerald scored for Anthony O’Neill’s United U15s, who drew 1-1 against Derry City in a well contested match.

Xavi Vazquez’s U14 outfit delivered another purposeful performance when overcoming Cork City 4-1 on Saturday.

The skilful Jacob Carroll, Eoin Hannon, Donnacha Sammon, and Graham Hurley scored for a particularly promising group of players.

At Dangan on Sunday a smashing Galway WFC U19 performance was rewarded with a 3-0 success over DLR Waves.

Abbie Callanan, Saoirse Healey, and Anna Fahey struck goals for Galway, who have significant potential at this level.

The U17s came from behind to beat Treaty United in the cup with Isabelle Fitzpatrick and Anna Costello contributing goals.

Former Mervue United players Fitzpatrick and Skye Corcoran have been included in a Republic of Ireland U16 training camp in Dublin on September 12 and 13.
