One week left to enter Galway Chamber Business Awards 2020

Awards set to recognise achievements of local businesses in an unprecedented and challenging year

The Galway Chamber Business Awards 2020 is open for entries, and will be seeking to recognise the achievements of local businesses in what has been a challenging, indeed hostile, 12 months.

The awards, in association with Shannon Group plc, will run under the theme of ‘Celebrating Resilience and Innovation’. were due to be held in November. However, due to restrictions the awards have been postponed until February 26, and will take place as a virtual event.

The 2020 awards will also see the introduction of a new category: Best Business Innovation, to highlight those businesses which changed their business models and demonstrated growth and diversity in a challenging environment.

Award categories

The categories for the awards are: Dr Chris Coughlan Award for Best Emerging Enterprise, sponsored by WestBIC/ Galway Technology Centre; Best Adaptation to COVID-19/Business Innovation, sponsored by EY; Best Small to Medium Enterprise, sponsored by AIB; Best Customer Service, sponsored by Galway Chamber; Marketing Excellence, sponsored by Galway City Council; and Best Sustainability, sponsored by Shannon Airport.

The President’s Award, sponsored by PwC, will be given to an individual who has made a contribution to the business life of Galway that is outstanding in every way. The recipient is chosen by the President of Galway Chamber in consultation with the officer board.

All members of Galway Chamber are eligible to enter, while ‘Best Emerging Enterprise’ and ‘Best Business Innovation’ are also open to non-members of Galway Chamber. Entry forms must be received by Galway Chamber by Friday January 22. Entry for the awards is via an application form, available through www.galwaychamber.com
