Don’t mix up the two Frank Fahys say Galway Fine Gael

There is Frank Fahey the Fianna Fáil TD, but there is also Frank Fahy the Fine Gael candidate standing in Galway City East in the June Local Elections.

In the present political climate it is a bad time to be mistaken for a government TD, and when cavassing for Mr Fahy Fine Gael members have to explain that it’s not the Fianna Fáil man they are here about but the Fine Gael one. To add to the confusion both men are living in the Menlo area.

As such, Galway Fine Gael is keen to make the public aware that the two are very different people and that their man is not the same as the former government minister.

Fine Gael’s Frank Fahy is a native Irish speaker living in Menlo. He is married to Gerardine and they have three children. He works as a taxi driver, is a former secretary of the Menlo Residents’ Association, and former chairman of Menlo Emmetts Hurling Club. He was chairman and treasurer of Lios na Rún Residents’ Association and is still closely connected with the area.

The issues he is standing on in this election include the provision of social and affordable housing; combating litter and anti-social behaviour; traffic management; restoration of Menlo Castle; development of parks and play area for children; preservation of Terryland Forest Park; dealing with the pollution of Lough Corrib and its surrounding area.

Fine Gael is also drawing attention to the fact that Frank Fahey’s middle name is Gabriel. This makes his initials FG Fahy, which could also be used as a way of remembering which party he is running for.
