In response to the necessary restrictions to social interactions we as a society have found ourselves in, the normal way the property business operates has been severely disrupted. Agents working remotely or from home, physical viewings stopped, and all necessary steps are being taken to protect the health and wellbeing of vendors, purchasers, and estate agents. Sherry FitzGerald has been quick to adapt, and is this week rolling out virtual viewings.
Using the video conferencing software Zoom, agents can invite buyers to attend a virtual viewing using previously shot walkthrough video of the property in question. The buyer is sent a link and a simple guide in advance to show how to log in at the agreed time. The process is very simple. Viewers can log in using their phone, PC, or laptop. Once the buyer has joined the “virtual viewing” he/she will be able to hear the agent talk about the property they are walking through. The buyer will also be able to ask questions in real time through a live chat box.
The company is also conducting virtual valuations with a similar online offering which will see agents interacting with owners of properties and advising them on value and marketing of their asset.
Sherry FitzGerald in early 2019 rolled out MySherryFitz, an interactive portal site where purchasers can book appointments, make offers, and have live chats. Last week traffic to the website and social media channels increased by 35 per cent.
Deals are still being done, contracts signed, and sales closing as life goes on, and housing is a basic need for us all. Technology allows Sherry FitzGerald to adapt and provide access to the market and property for interested parties and facilitates market interaction.
Sherry FitzGerald director Tony Kavanagh advises anyone who wants to register to view a property to email [email protected] to receive a login with a date and time. Likewise, those who wish to have their property valued can call the office at 091 569123 and the team will make the necessary arrangements.
