The students of Calasanctius College, Oranmore will present the musical ‘We Will Rock You’ from Wednesday next October 16 to Friday October 18 at 7.30pm nightly.

“We are looking forward to this year’s musical. It is great to see so many showing an interest. It is the largest cast we have ever had,” said Principal of Calasanctius College, Córa Ní Loinsigh, ‘It is uplifting to see so much joy and happiness in the students faces as they practice and prepare for this wonderful show.’

Some familiar faces from previous award-winning school productions feature along with a host of new faces making their stage debut. Rory Collins plays ‘the dreamer’ Galileo, Oliwia Koman plays Scaramouche, Juliette Macken plays the evil Killer Queen alongside Tristan Kirby as the terrifying head of police, Commander Khashoggi, Temiloluwa Oshandiya as librarian and hippy, Timileyin Ogundare as Bohemian Britney Spears, and Witkoria Buczek as his feisty companion Meat. Returning to the cast this year are Galway University Musical Society award nominee Lucas Lamounier as one of the Super Yuppies, and chameleon and GUMs award winner 2019 Caoilfhionn McGrath who will take on the challenge of multiple roles as one of the more experienced members of the cast.

The show features choreography by Caroline Cawley and Hannah Wright of Stageworks and the musical direction of Ger Madden . There will be just four performances on stage in Calasanctius College over the three-day period (Oct 16th–18th ) including a matinee show for the National Schools on Wednesday October 16, so tickets are sure to sell out fast. Tickets at €8 for students and €15 for adults can be booked online from www.calasanctius.ie or at school reception.
