O’Donnellan & Joyce auctioneers has announced a new business partnership with Brite Mobility, which offers office lease plans for its electric scooters to small and medium size enterprises in Galway city and surrounding areas, and pay as you go subscriptions to the public, from its new office on Eyre Street.

With the new electric scooter in place in the O’Donnellan & Joyce office, sales agents and property valuers have had a ball over the last week zipping through town on their way to viewings and appointments. Senior sales negotiator Niall Browne commented that his Saturday open viewings "were never as easy," as he "skipped the traffic on the way from one property to another".

"In the gated community of Barna Demesne, the scooter was ideal for travelling between the gated entrance and the property which we had for sale, and the scooter ultimately drew a lot of attention from property viewers," he added.

With a top speed of 25kph and a range of approximately 25km, the e-scooter has sufficient capacity to get from the O’Donnellan & Joyce office on 5 Mary Street to Barna on the west side of Galway city and back twice on the same day on one single charge.

With numerous private treaty open viewings around Galway city and suburbs every week, the agents are looking forward to leaving the car keys at home and travelling to their appointments in a cost effective and time efficient manner.

The e-scooter functions on a high-tech but easy to use system where the user scans the QR code on the handlebars with his/her smartphone, and this unlocks the scooter, much like disabling an immobilised car. The user can ride freely around the city and, once the trip is complete, lock the scooter again using the Brite mobile app which is available for both Apple and Android devices.

O’Donnellan & Joyce senior director Tony Joyce noted that "e-scooters are the way forward in terms of beating the never-ending Galway traffic. We have electric wheels now and we can go anywhere in a matter of moments."
