Kirby – building the future with its apprenticeship programme

For more than 50 years, Kirby has been developing world-class electrical, mechanical, and E&I apprentices through its apprenticeship programme.

The Kirby Apprenticeship Programme provides apprentices with an opportunity to develop technically and personally while earning and working on leading-edge engineering projects.

Kirby is one of the largest recruiters of apprentices in Ireland; currently employing more than 120 apprentices. This figure is set to rise with Kirby on target for 25 per cent growth in 2019. Fergus Barry, associate director – group head of HR at Kirby says; “The Kirby Apprenticeship programme plays an integral role in our talent development. Many of our senior leaders began their careers as Kirby apprentices and we expect the new apprentices to become the leaders of the future.

“Our modern and structured programme provides candidates with the opportunity to become world-class craft professionals. Many of our apprentices have competed at international level and been successful. We are currently looking for bright, action-oriented, analytical candidates, who are interested in how and why things work and who are practically-minded and enjoy working hands on, to join our apprenticeship programme and to develop into world-class electrical, mechanical, and E&I site professionals."

The Kirby Apprenticeship Programme provides apprentices with excellent structured technical training, graduated practical work challenges, coaching and mentoring, and quality personal development and support.
