Loughrea Credit Union is leading the way in climate change with the launch of its hybrid or electric car finance package. Since its launch a few weeks ago a number of loans have gone out to members with an average value of €20,000 over a five-year period. But what makes this product attractive? – an interest rate of 3.99% APR which will be offered for one year. With this e – car package are two charge points located in the credit union car park for members’ use.

This is just another important step by Naomh Breandain Credit Union in supporting its community by providing finance for sustainable purposes.

Recharge was launched as part of a much larger sustainable energy programme in Loughrea. It is the first of a wide range of interesting projects about to be launched in the coming months.Naomh Breandain has worked closely with Sustainable Energy West in making funds available to kick start thirteen Energy Audits carried out in our community. Another huge achievement is an Energy Master Plan for our community just completed.

The ProEnergy Home Loan package with the SEAI and REIL in collaboration with three other Co Galway Credit Unions was recently launched is proving to have a huge interest among householders in the Loughrea area. This product was designed to help make member’s homes more comfortable, more efficient and to reduce carbon emission.
