The story of League of Ireland from forty club fans

A new League of Ireland book will come to Galway United this weekend for sale.

One Team. One Dream. Won Friday Night is a new football publication which takes in nearly 40 stories from 40 fans of 40 League of Ireland clubs.

Author Brian Kennedy says it tells of the "joy, pain, and often depression, that can go with supporting your local League of Ireland club".

It will be available for the first time in Galway at United's cup tie against Bohemians this Friday night.

All current League of Ireland clubs are included, with two Galway United chapters - Paul O'Brien's "An Empty Trophy Cabinet" deals with the lean days when Eamonn Deacy Park was Terryland Park and silverware was hard won, while "Sleeping With The Enemy...of sorts!" tells of United's historic UEFA Cup tie which was held in Carraroe, the Irish speaking community.

The book is a sequel to Brian Kennedy's Just Follow The Floodlights. This latest book has been launched in Waterford, Cork, Limerick, Dundalk and Dublin and this Friday comes to Eamonn Deacy Park for sale at the ground for €10.
