Strong demand expected for summer auction

The Connacht Property Auction will hold its 2018 summer auction event on July 5 in The Menlo Park Hotel, Galway.

The auction team is encouraging anyone thinking of selling to make contact, saying June and July have proved to be two of the busiest months of the year for property sales.

Latest predictions by the Central Bank and the Department of Finance is that Ireland will see another price hike by the end of the year. Early forecasts are indicating up to five per cent increase in house prices, compared to 3.7 per cent the previous year. The main driving force behind this can be contributed to a growing number of private buyers who are entering the market with funding becoming more available.

Brian Christy, sales manager for The Connacht Property Auction, says approaching the half way point of 2018, an upsurge of activity in the market can be seen.

"Our auction team is currently experiencing strong enquiry levels on the majority of the properties being offered for sale. We have recorded a 23 per cent increase on sales from this time last year, and do not expect the demand to slow any time soon.”

The Connacht Property Auction undertakes a large marketing campaign in Ireland and abroad and remains the only auction company in Ireland which does not charge any upfront costs to enter a property into auction.
