Take 401 to Ed, recommends Bus Eireann

Bus Éireann advise customers that Galway City Route 401 will carry concert go-ers to Ed Sheeran concerts in Pearse Stadium this weekend.

Bus Éireann are pleased to advise Ed Sheeran fans that our Galway City Route 401 from Eyre Square South, Stop no. 9 (outside AIB Bank ) will operate to a temporary terminus at Galway Atlantaquaria in Salthill on Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13 every 20 minutes.

Return services will operate from the temporary terminus at Galway Atlantaquaria, a short walk to the concert venue in Pearse Stadium. Customers taking return journeys are advised to travel back to Eyre Square directly after the concert ends as heavy traffic congestion is expected.

Galway City Red Zone Fares (Leap fare €1.61 and Adult cash fare €2.30 /Child (u-16 ) €1.30 ) will apply and Leap Cards and Free Travel passes will also be accepted on these services.

Brian Connolly, Regional Manager Galway said “We are encouraging fans to travel on Route 401 from Eyre Square to Salthill to help reduce congestion in the city. We will be providing additional capacity on our service in order to cater for the demand.”
